Nature’s Visionary and Wildlife Advocate
Louise McNaught is a contemporary British artist whose work celebrates the beauty, fragility, and divinity of the natural world. Often depicting animals as ethereal, almost celestial beings, her paintings elevate wildlife to a sacred status reminding viewers of the deep interconnection between humanity and the Earth.
Louise McNaught’s artistic journey is a vivid evolution from expressive surrealism to a refined, emotionally resonant body of work that champions wildlife and the natural world. Since graduating with a Fine Art Degree (hons) in 2012 from Greenwich University, McNaught has established herself as a prominent voice in contemporary wildlife art, developing a distinctive visual language that blends delicate realism, street art and spiritual symbolism. Her animal subject soften adorned with neon accents, upward drips, and sometimes gold leaf appear deified, suspended between the material and the metaphysical, inviting viewers to reflect on both beauty and vulnerability.
Her achievements reflect her growing impact and recognition in the art world. McNaught has exhibited internationally at major art fairs and galleries in Milan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brussels, Stockholm, and across the UK. Her solo shows, including Supernatural (2013), Survival (2016) and Edge of Existence (2017) at London’s Curious Duke Gallery, and Consume in 2019 at the Royal Over Seas League. In 2018, she was chosen by Big Picture Press to create the book ‘Survival’ (currently in print, sold over 20K copies worldwide) inspired by her Solo Show based on endangered species , it was a collaborative factual art book that fused fine art with environmental advocacy a project that cemented her role as both artist and conservation enthusiast.
McNaught’s works have been collected globally and featured in prestigious spaces such as the Saatchi Gallery, London Art Fair, and Affordable Art Fair circuits. Her collectors include celebrities and major private art buyers drawn to the luminous tension between realism and fantasy in her pieces. Working in mixed media blending acrylics, pencil, spray paint, and metallics she continues to push the boundaries of wildlife portraiture. Louise McNaught’s art not only captures the soul of her subjects but also serves as a powerful call to reconnect with, and protect, the natural world.
